common deficiencies adults tend to experience. It can be challenging to ensure you get the right amount of iron from your diet. If you’re not regularly consuming vegetables or red meat then it can be even trickier.

One of the most common symptoms of low iron is feelings of fatigue. Oftentimes if you’re struggling with fatigue and you go to get some bloodwork done you’ll find that you have low levels of iron. Iron is responsible for helping transport oxygen around in your blood. It actually binds to oxygen and combines with it in your blood in order to facilitate this.

With this in mind, it’s not surprising to learn of many of the side effects associated with low iron. Feelings of anxiety are all too common in those suffering from a deficit. This symptom will normally subside fairly quickly after the issue has been corrected.

Another thing to be conscious of is your b12 levels. Vitamin B12 plays an important role when it comes to iron absorption. If you have a vitamin B12 deficiency, there’s a reasonable chance that you’ll also end up with an iron deficit. If you’re currently looking to address your iron levels you should also give some consideration to your b12 levels.

There are other side effects associated with low levels of iron also.

Always remember that it's important to try to get all of your vitamins and minerals through a balanced and varied diet. With that being said, sometimes it's difficult to get it 100% right every day. Using a supplement can help bridge this gap for a period of time.
